Diamondbacks Down Rockies, 1-0
|
In a tight affair between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies, pitcher Jay Meltzer was in the zone. The Arizona left-hander helped his team win the game, 1-0. Arizona has a record of 7-10.
Arizona left fielder Eddy Miramontes contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Diamondbacks ahead, 1-0.
"Runs were at a premium," said Arizona manager Terrell Bailey.
