Blaze Overcome Great Performance by Cancino in Win
San Jose right fielder Felix Cancino pounded Bakersfield Blaze pitchers at San Jose Municipal Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Giants from falling, 14-12. Cancino slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. The loss makes San Jose 76-55.

Bakersfield used the clutch hitting of Jonathan Leach to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blaze ahead, 14-12. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Leach. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
