Visalia Rallies Past Stockton, 5-1
|
Visalia turned a good performance from starting pitcher Gregg Porowski into a 5-1 triumph over the Stockton Ports at Recreation Park. The Rawhide now have a record of 80-51 with the win over Stockton.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Jeff Sheeley came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Stockton pitcher Matt McDonough, he hit a 1-2 curveball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Visalia on top, 3-1.
"The clubhouse vibe is great," said Visalia manager Steve Deemer.
