San Manuel Stadium played host to some real drama.

Inland Empire used a superb performance from starting pitcher Joey Shelton to down the Lake Elsinore Storm, 4-1, in 12 innings. Inland Empire reliever Daniel Ramirez picked up the win. Josh Sturgess took the loss for Lake Elsinore.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Inland Empire. That's when 22-year old shortstop John Barr hit a 3-run home run off Josh Sturgess to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

Barr called getting the win a "good ending to a long game."

Inland Empire, now 72-60, holds down third place in the South Division.
