The High Desert Mavericks got a superb performance from pitcher Danny Ayala, but the Lake Elsinore Storm still won the game, 4-3. Ayala threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Lake Elsinore reliever Jonathan Remien, now 11-6. The loser was Josh Young. The Storm are now 74-59.

The Storm got a clutch hit from second baseman Diego Rangel. In the bottom of the ninth, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Storm.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Rangel said.
