Slumping Mavericks Lose Again, 3-1
The Lake Elsinore Storm got a marvelous performance from pitcher Alex Toledo. The right-hander kept the High Desert offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 Lake Elsinore victory at Lake Elsinore Diamond. Andy Grupp earned the save, his 13th in 15 tries. The losing streak for High Desert has now reached 6 games.

Hector Avila chipped in a solo home run for Lake Elsinore in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.

Toledo said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
