Mavericks Use Late-Game Magic to Beat JetHawks, 8-6
The High Desert Mavericks weathered an outstanding game by Lancaster first baseman Matt Freeman to topple the JetHawks, 8-6. Freeman went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win elevated the Mavericks to 71-62.

Had Zach Baltzell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Baltzell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Mavericks.

"Nice win for us," said Baltzell. "Now we'll go after the next one."
