The Bakersfield Blaze topped the Lancaster JetHawks, 5-4, in California League action at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bakersfield pitcher Manny Sanchez. By defeating Lancaster, the 4th-place Blaze improved to 57-76.

Bakersfield took a 5-4 lead on Dave Duel's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Duel hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Lancaster pitcher Josh Chambers visibly frustrated.

"Time to decompress after a tough win," said Sanchez.
