Reds Beat Giants in 11
|
The Cincinnati Reds faced a tough opponent in San Francisco pitcher Jose Rodriguez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at AT&T Park by a final score of 7-1. Rodriguez went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Cincinnati reliever Dusty Plummer picked up the win, raising his record to 1-4. Drew Goodwin was tagged with the loss. The loss drops San Francisco to 13-4.
Jesus Najera provided a timely hit. The Cincinnati left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the 11th inning to put the Reds on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"It was our day today," Najera told the Cincinnati Daily. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
