Goff goes 3-for-4, Leads Mets to Win
|
Grant Goff made an impact in the 5-3 New York win over Cleveland. Goff, who finished 3rd in the NL in home runs with 47 in 2107, was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was 31-year old right-handed pitcher Seung-mo Kym. He tossed 105 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. Cleveland now has a record of 9-8.
Goff had a timely hit for New York in the bottom of the sixth. With New York trailing 3-2, he turned a full count changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-3, New York.
Said losing manager Danny Jaime: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
