The Pittsburgh Pirates faced a tenacious opponent in Texas pitcher Tyler Gaskins, but still scratched out a win at PNC Park by a final score of 5-4 in 10 innings. Gaskins went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. With the loss, Texas drops to 9-9.

The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the tenth. With Pittsburgh trailing 4-3, Raul Rodriguez delivered the decisive blow, stroking a cutter from Josh Payne for a 2-run double. Ballgame.
