In 13, Oakland Beats Baltimore, 8-6
|
The Oakland Athletics used the hitting of left fielder Blake Zobel to subdue the Baltimore Orioles, 8-6, in 13 innings. For the game, Zobel hit 3 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. The win takes Oakland to 8-11.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With no one out, Zobel hit a fastball from Tim Huntress for a 2-run home run. The Athletics, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Zobel said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
