Hustle 7-5 Victors Over Rockies
|
The Colorado Rockies got a superb performance from third baseman Trevor Crouch, but the Las Vegas Hustle still won the game, 7-5. Crouch was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Pedro Sandoval, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Ryan McLellan picked up the save for Las Vegas, his 10th of the year.
Jacob Sessions, who finished 2nd in the NL in slugging percentage with .649 in 2105, chipped in a 2-run home run for Las Vegas in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Sessions.
The loss lowers the Colorado record to 11-8.
