St. Louis starter Steve Gbur pitched well against the Houston Astros at Busch Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 9-1. The loss drops Houston to 8-12.

St. Louis center fielder Brian Forrey contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 13th hit of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 2-0.

"All my pitches were working," said Gbur. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."
