Angels Take Shellacking, Lose 14-2
|
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 14-2, at Target Field. Minnesota was led by 24-year old left fielder Danny Aguilar, who went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Steve Buck was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 2 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. The loss drops Los Angeles to 8-13.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- few are -- the fans who filled the stands at Target Field seemed to enjoy watching the American League action.
"We fell flat on our faces," Los Angeles manager Keith Orchard said, when asked afterward about the game.
