Chicago took on Texas in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Felix Martinez, in particular, was fantastic. The Chicago left-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-1. Martinez, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Ruben Guevara was credited with the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the season.
Chicago center fielder Troy Loyd contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a cutter to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 19th hit of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 3-0.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Stephen Gesualdi.
Chicago, with the win, is 15-6.
