Braves Win, 6-3, Versus St. Louis
|
Atlanta and St. Louis duked it out and the Braves came out victorious.
The Atlanta Braves dealt the St. Louis Cardinals a 6-3 loss at Coca-Cola Field. Steve Lewison was the star on offense. He was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Atlanta reliever Ryan Washington picked up the win to move to 1-0. Ray Blasetti suffered the loss. Jaime Cotton closed the game out for Atlanta, earning his 1st save.
Lewison had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch splitter from Ray Blasetti, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Braves a 6-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Lewison.
Lewison said his team "played with focus."
St. Louis falls to 16-6.
