Mariners Bridle Reds, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Reds got a superb performance from designated hitter Jonathan Nelson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Seattle. The Mariners won the game, 3-2. Nelson went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. Trevor Killy, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits. Tony Soto picked up the save, his 2nd.
Rob Brady, the slick-fielding second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Brady contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Seattle up, 3-0.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Brady.
Now 9-12, the Reds have not played well this season.
