Giants Sunk by Rockies
|
Colorado right-hander Ethan Moorer pitched his team to victory over the San Francisco Giants at Colorado Field. The final score was 5-2. The winning pitcher was Moorer, now 2-0. He tossed 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Early on, the Rockies, at 18-3, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
The Giants had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rockies going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the three-time All-Star Hans Cabedo came to the plate. Cabedo hit a 2-run home run on a 2-2 splitter from San Francisco hurler Juliano Capela. It was Cabedo's 3rd home run of the year.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
