Blue Jays Slap 4-3 Loss on Padres
|
Toronto pitcher Victor Urueta did his part in helping his team beat the San Diego Padres, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Jay Courtney recorded the save, his 1st. The triumph makes Toronto 11-9, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2107.
Jonathan Thompson, who is tied for 4th in the AL with a 1.109 OPS, had a direct impact on the outcome. Thompson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Toronto up, 2-1.
"We squandered some opportunities," said San Diego manager Tim Lentz.
