The Pittsburgh Pirates trumped the New York Mets, 12-2, at Citi Field. Pittsburgh second baseman Mark Tallman was terrific. He was 4-5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4. The defeat makes the Mets 6-14.

Pittsburgh used the hitting of Brendan Keyes to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Pirates on top, 8-0. For the game, Keyes had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I have nothing to complain about," said winning manager Merlyn Evans after the game.
