Los Angeles Offense Jammed Up by Giants
|
The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Angels played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The San Francisco Giants got a marvelous performance from pitcher Matt Barnes. The right-hander kept the Los Angeles offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-1 San Francisco victory at AT&T Park. The save was credited to Ryan McLellan, his 2nd.
The Giants got a big at-bat from first baseman Marcos Iniguez. For the game, Iniguez was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave San Francisco a 2-0 lead.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Iniguez.
Los Angeles now is 10-13.
