Astros Throttle Guardians, 5-1
|
Starting pitcher Jim Grangroth had a solid game. He was a big reason the Houston Astros throttled the Cleveland Guardians, 5-1. Grangroth picked up the win for Houston, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-3. Houston is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 23 games.
The Astros got a big at-bat from right fielder Edwin Oliva. For the game, Oliva was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Houston a 4-1 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Oliva told the Houston Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
