Royals Hand Twins 4-3 Loss
|
Though he had a terrific game, Billy Hinson could not prevent his team, the Minnesota Twins, from absorbing a loss. Kansas City won the game, 4-3. Hinson slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Bill Fike picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-3. Kansas City goes to 9-15.
Francisco Ferrer, who is tied for 7th in the AL in bases on balls with 14, took Minnesota hurler Alan Weirauch deep in the top of the second. His 2-run home run put the Royals on top, 2-0. In all, Ferrer had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
In comments to the Kansas City Herald, Ferrer insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
