Nightingale Excels in 4-3 Oakland Win
|
Led by Josh Nightingale, the Oakland Athletics downed the Kansas City Royals, 4-3. Nightingale went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Athletics. The loss drops Kansas City to 6-19.
Nightingale had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 cutter from Bobby Day, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Athletics a 4-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Nightingale.
"Bottom line," said Kansas City skipper Connor Gould, "we didn't play well enough to win."
