The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox, 4-1, in American League action at Fenway Park. New York pitcher Chris Williams had a standout performance. Zach Rogers was credited with the save for New York, his 9th of the season. Boston is 11-13 after the loss.
Gabriele Monachino had a direct impact on the outcome. Monachino contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put New York up, 2-0.
