Guardians Turn Back Astros, 2-1
|
Cleveland got a first-rate effort from pitcher Nick Mulcahey, who frustrated Houston hitters en route to a 2-1 Guardians triumph at Minute Maid Park. Pablo Iglesias finished the game for Cleveland and earned his 4th save. Cleveland now has a record of 10-15.
The Guardians got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ricky Alvarez. For the game, Alvarez was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Cleveland a 1-0 lead.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Alvarez. "You've got to get results."
