9-6 Win by Reds Continues Hot Start
|
The Cincinnati Reds powered past the New York Mets, 9-6, at Great American Ball Park. Paul Epperly went 2-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Tim Snipes earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 5-0. Corey Comer locked down his 8th save.
Early in the game, catcher Chad Crane had a bases-clearing double for Cincinnati. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Reds on top, 6-3.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Crane. "But I like how we're playing right now."
The Reds, now 18-7, have played inspired baseball.
