Diamondbacks Take Down Orioles, 6-5
|
Baltimore shortstop Brian Garrett had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Garrett went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Arizona beat the Orioles, 6-5. Omar Cadet, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. The loss puts Baltimore at 11-14.
Tristian Plumber helped out the Arizona cause in the top of the seventh inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Baltimore manager Art Matlock. "But we decided not to take it."
