Athletics Take 10-2 Pounding
|
Getting a good performance from second baseman Takashi Nakata, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Oakland Athletics, 10-2. Nakata went 4-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 3 runs for the Royals. B.J. Edwards, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits. Kansas City is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 9th in 26 games.
Rafael Ochoa, who led the AL in triples with 19 in 2090, came through for Kansas City with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 4 runs batted in.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Oakland manager Jon Pearson. "We got flat-out beat."
