Down Goes Los Angeles, 5-4
|
Los Angeles got a terrific game from left fielder John Lamkin. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Boston, 5-4. Lamkin was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. The winner was Josh DeMuth, who threw 89 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits. Dan Palumbo earned the save for Boston, his 1st of the year.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from left fielder Billy Thrash. For the game, Thrash was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Boston a 3-1 lead.
"We'll build on this win," said Thrash.
The loss drops Los Angeles to 9-16.
