Dahl Socks Nationals in 6-2 Mets Win
|
Joe Dahl was a major contributor to the 6-2 New York win over Washington. The Mets right fielder was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Miguel Montoya earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work. Earning his 6th save for New York was John Rood.
Early in the game, Dahl had a 2-run home run for New York. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Mets on top, 2-0.
Said New York manager Rodney Smith: "We squared some balls up."
