Royals Lose to Blue Jays, 6-4
|
The Toronto Blue Jays dealt the Kansas City Royals a 6-4 loss at Rogers Centre. Justin Dupree was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Toronto reliever Ivan Juarez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Pete Bettencourt. Domingo Tamayo collected his 2nd save.
Alex Carrillo was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Toronto. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Pete Bettencourt. It was his 5th RBI of the season.
Postgame, Blue Jays manager Dan Silva complimented Dupree. "No question about it. Kodak was terrific."
The Royals fall to 10-18 and continue their lackluster start to the 2098 season.
