The San Diego Padres beat the Chicago Cubs, 5-1, at The Pound at Seaport Village. San Diego left fielder Tom Lazier led the way. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. Bryant Sprague earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 3-0. With the loss, Chicago falls to 16-12.
