Rangers Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers.
The Texas Rangers got a superb performance from pitcher Kelyn Norlander. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Baltimore. The Orioles won the game, 3-1. Norlander threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Alvaro Vasquez. His record is now 4-0. The right-hander went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Orioles. Brent Brzezinski sewed up the save, his 1st.
Baltimore took a 3-1 lead on Dave Schwabe's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Texas pitcher Victor Luna in the bottom of the seventh.
"This was a tough loss," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
The win brings the Orioles to 20-8, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
