Tigers Rally to Win
The Detroit Tigers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-5, at Jon Nunez Sr. Stadium. Chris Ward, who leads the AL in doubles with 12, was a standout performer for Detroit. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Kenneth Jones closed it out for Detroit, earning his 4th save. With the win, Detroit elevates its record to 13-16.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Ward delivered big-time for Detroit, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Tim Berigan. The game-changing hit put the Tigers on top, 7-5.

"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Ward told the Detroit Herald.
