Yankees Win, Comeaux has 3 hits tonight
|
The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 12-5, at Progressive Field today. Leading the charge for New York was designated hitter Aaron Comeaux. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Griff Hill, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The loss puts Cleveland at 18-11.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chris Clark? The New York shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Yankees on top, 1-0. For the game, Clark had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Clark told the New York Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
