Torres Leads Charge, Colorado Blasts Cubs
The Colorado Rockies romped over the Chicago Cubs, 13-1, at Colorado Field. Francisco Torres led the way. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for Colorado. Sean Kontos picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-2. Isaiah Mason had a big bases-clearing triple for the Rockies in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Colorado leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Alfredo Cortez, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in wins with 4, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 5-1.
