Ortiz Wins IL Player of the Week Monday, June 14th, 2055 At the age of 29, Alex Ortiz might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Lehigh Valley right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .370 batting average. For his efforts Ortiz collected the International League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 10 hits in 27 at-bats, 5 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 6 games. So far this year in 59 games Ortiz is hitting .272 with 18 home runs, 40 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
