Leading the way to victory was starter Dave Downer, who shackled the Fresno Grizzlies and held them scoreless on a 3-hitter. "This is what every pitcher wants to do when they go out there," Downer said in his postgame press conference. In 21 starts this season Downer has compiled a 14-3 record and a 3.04 ERA.
