Oklahoma City Wins 2115 Round 2!
Sunday, September 29th , 2115
With a 8-2 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas tonight at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, the Oklahoma City Dodgers wrapped up their 8th title in team history.
Oklahoma City left little doubt who was the better club. "Team" was the word of the day as the Dodgers celebrated the culmination of their banner year in the victors clubhouse following the game.
"Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Oklahoma City manager Vicente Gutierrez. "Our players felt that way all year and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void."
A jovial mood filled the air as Oklahoma City celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" in the works.
"We're going to celebrate our team, our championship Oklahoma City Dodgers," the mayor said.
The champions completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the American Conference North Division and a 89-53 record.
