Mets Cleary Strikes out 17 Thunder Saturday, September 8th, 2063 Binghamton Mets starter Jon Cleary brought his best stuff to NYSEG Stadium today against the Trenton Thunder, striking out 17 batters in his club's 5-0 victory. In a strong performance, the 27-year-old Cleary gave up 5 hits in his 8 innings of work and issued 3 walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my curveball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." Cleary is currently batting .228 with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs.
