Casares Fires 3-0 Shutout in BayBears Win
Wednesday, August 7th , 2109
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Hector Casares of the Mobile BayBears proved the point at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, holding the Montgomery Biscuits to 6 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Casares made us look real bad today," Biscuits manager George Woolbright said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Casares had 3 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the BayBears took the 3-0 win.
This season, Casares has a 9-9 record with a 3.20 ERA.
