Taylor Takes Home SL Top Batter Award Monday, September 1st , 2098 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 23 Brian Taylor has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Chattanooga Lookouts star can enjoy the numbers he put up in August, which have garnered him the nod as the Southern League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .272 average with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 19 runs scored. So far this season Taylor has gotten 42 hits in 162 at-bats for a .259 batting average with 6 home runs.
