Mississippi Shut Out by Villagomez
Thursday, September 4th , 2098
In a seemingly effortless performance, Edwin Villagomez of the Jacksonville Suns shot down the Mississippi Braves 8-0 on a 2-hit shutout.
"Edwin was just locating so well and using his pitches," Jacksonville manager Matt Hearn said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Villagomez recorded 9 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Mississippi manager Dan Davis said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
