Joplin Gets Award for Relief Work

At the young age of only 20, David Joplin has been named the Southern League Reliever of the Year winner for 2110.

The future appears bright for the Tennessee Smokies relief ace, who captured the award with 12 saves in 41 relief appearances, 64 strikeouts in 64.1 innings and a record of 5-4 to go with his 1.96 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Daniel Pethoud of the Mississippi Braves finished second in voting, while Orlando Lopez of the Jackson Generals finished third.
