Tuesday, October 7th , 2098
He may have less experience than most of his Southern League peers, but that didn't slow Manuel Sanchez down at all in 2098.
At the age of 24, the Jackson right fielder has been named the winner of the Southern League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .239 batting average and a .333 on-base percentage this year. In 129 games he piled up 111 hits, 21 doubles, 7 triples, 32 home runs, 78 RBIs and 80 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. Kevin Cannon of the Biloxi Shuckers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Bobby Jones of the Chattanooga Lookouts finished third.
