Johnson Sizzles in No-Hitter Saturday, September 9th, 2051 It was a fantastic day for Midland RockHounds starter Nick Johnson and a lousy day for the Frisco RoughRiders. The Midland hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the RoughRiders, as the RockHounds cruised to a 6-0 win. When it was all over, Johnson was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter. "The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Johnson said later. He rang up 10 strikeouts and allowed 2 walks while shutting Frisco down at Security Bank Ballpark. So far this season Johnson has a 15-4 record, 30 starts, 180.1 innings, 236 strikeouts and a 3.94 ERA. View Boxscore |
