Jason Riedel was a calming influence out of the Midland RockHounds bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 25-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Texas League Reliever of the Year for 2052.

The New York native won the award with 12 saves in 54 relief appearances, 124 strikeouts in 105 innings and a record of 6-4 to go with his 3.00 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. John Most of the Arkansas Travelers finished second in voting, while Rich Lutz of the Arkansas Travelers finished third.
