California League Names Top Player Monday, May 26th, 2059 22-year-old Mike Hummel made a few Lake Elsinore headlines during this past week as the rookie left fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and California League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 7 hits in 9 at-bats to put up a .778 average. Hummel collected 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. This season Hummel is batting .304 with 24 hits, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs, .356 OBP and has scored 10 runs. |
