Best CAL Reliever Named
Sunday, October 6th, 2052
John Gardener said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 23 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Stockton Ports rising star has won the California League Reliever of the Year for 2052.

He captured the award on the strength of his 1.34 ERA over 107.2 innings. He also had 14 saves in 70 relief appearances, 164 strikeouts and only 23 walks.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Juan Sanchez of the Lancaster JetHawks finished second in voting, while John Bisbee of the Lake Elsinore Storm finished third.

John Gardener - Stockton Ports - 10 - 50
Juan Sanchez - Lancaster JetHawks - 0 - 30
