Perales Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Lancaster
Thursday, May 29th , 2110
It was a doubly miserable day for Mario Perales of the Stockton Ports, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 7-2, to the Lancaster JetHawks at The Hanger. The 22-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the JetHawks.
"Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Lancaster manager Jose Gomez said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
Perales is hitting at a .365 mark this season. His stats show 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has played 26 games for the Ports.
