Alberto Rojas Rockets 3 Home Runs
Sunday, September 8th , 2109
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Alberto Rojas can celebrate.
The Lancaster JetHawks shortstop powered three into the stands at The Hanger against the High Desert Mavericks.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Rojas told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-5 as the JetHawks toppled High Desert by a score of 14-9, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Lancaster manager Jose Gomez said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Alberto Rojas struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Serrano in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Marcos Luna in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Andy Gill in the 8th.
In 128 games this season, Rojas is batting .270 with 129 hits and 26 home runs. He has scored 83 runs and driven in 90.
